Andy Murray is into the last four of the AEGON Championship at Queen's Club after a relatively straightforward 7-5 6-3 win over America's Mardy Fish.
The Scot will now face Spanish eight seed Juan Carlos Ferrero in the semi-final, his first at the London venue.
Murray had to fight hard to take the opening set but did so despite squandering a 30-0 opening advantage.
However, a wild forehand smash from the American, ranked number eight in the world, gave Murray the set 7-5.
The second set was a little bit more comfortable for Murray as he went 5-3 ahead and within a game of his first semi-final appearance on grass.
A beautiful cross-court shot that the American was unable to match left the British number one at match-point and he duly obliged with a superb cross-court volley.
Ferrero made the semi-finals earlier in the day with a hard-fought 4-6 6-3 6-4 win over Steve Darcis, who was bidding to become the first Belgian to reach the last four at Queen's.
Meanwhile, second seed Andy Roddick made heavy weather of his quarter-fianl against Croatian Ivo Karlovic.
The American survived two tie-breaks to advance 7-6 [7/4] 7-6 [7/5] at the expense of his big-serving opponent.
