Enzo Maccarinelli knows that he will not be afforded many more chances to prove himself as a top fighter.
The Welsh powerhouse had started to build up quite a reputation for himself before stepping into the ring with David Haye last year, where everything went wrong.
His WBO cruiserweight belt was taken away as Haye destroyed the 28-year-old inside two rounds. Worse was to come though as he slipped to a surprise defeat to Nigerian Ola Afolabi.
Now he is hoping to get back to winning ways when he faces Russian Denis Lebedev on June 27 in what Maccarinelli is describing as his last big shot.
"I want my old World Championship belt back and this is the start of the journey," said Maccarinelli.
"If I can't beat Lebedev, I might as well pack it all in.
"I'm honest enough to realise I need to walk through men like this if I'm to get anywhere near the top.
"I look at the world scene at cruiserweight and, hand on heart, I know that I can beat any of them on my day."
The Swansea-born fighter has admitted that he would consider stepping up to heavyweight and eventually wants a re-match with Haye, but for now he is focused on beating Lebedev.
