Frank Warren's Sports Network company will not be allowed to appeal a High Court ruling that it must pay Joe Calzaghe around £1.8 million.
Former world super-middleweight champion Calzaghe claimed that Warren owed him the figure in fees for last year's bout with Bernard Hopkins.
Warren countered by saying that Calzaghe in fact owed him £1 million for breaking a verbally agreed contract.
Warren's claim was denied in March by Mr Justice Wyn Williams, who ruled that the promoter should pay Calzaghe, before Sports Network went into administration.
On Wednesday, Lord Justice Wall and Lord Justice Ward said that the administrators' appeal application was "hopeless", and that there was “no prospect at all” of the Court of Appeal overturning Mr Justice Wyn Williams' findings.
“The judge cannot be criticised for taking a view of the case and his assessment of the character, demeanour and personalities of the protagonists and Mr Warren in particular," said Lord Justice Ward.
