Wexford moved into the second round of the All-Ireland Football Championship qualifiers on Saturday afternoon with 2-11 to 0-16 win over Leinster rivals Offaly.
It was the latter who settled best initially and led 0-8 to 0-3 at one point, but crucial, morale-boosting goals from Ciaran Lyng and PJ Banville in either half proved the difference between the two sides.
PJ Ward was a handful for the Wexford defence all day, and when Niall McNamee pointed with a free in the final minutes a draw looked a possibility.
However, Jason Ryan's charges hung on and were single-point winners when the final whistle blew.
