Both Joe Kernan and Paul Caffrey have called for the Inter Provincial series to be given a new date on the calendar, following Ulster's win over Leinster on Sunday.
Ulster will face Munster in the London-based final after more than 2,000 supporters turned out to see them defeat their Leinster counterparts 1-14 to 1-10, with Ulster boss Kernan anxious to see the series given a proper time slot.
"On today's evidence you can see the players want it to continue," he said.
"The conditions were bad and it would be great if the competition could be played with on St Patrick's Day with the All-Ireland club finals - that would be the ideal place for it.
"In fairness, (sponsor) Martin Donnelly has kept the competition alive - the GAA haven't.
"I told the members of the Leinster council to push for it to be moved to a new date - we can fit the semi-finals in the break in the league - it's only one week."
Former Dublin manager Caffrey was in full agreement.
"I know people say it every year that the players want it, but you just have to look at the quality of players that turned out for Leinster and Ulster.
"All great credit to Martin Donnelly for keeping this thing alive and I think it is up to the GAA to lift it - a bit of marketing put into the competition."
