McCann joins Aussie exodus

Antrim footballer Tomas McCann has become the latest GAA player to sign up for an AFL trial down under.

The Cargin clubman is already in Australia for a trial with the Richmond club and has been given three weeks to make a mark, having already impressed talent scout Ricky Nixon in special training camps.

"Over these three weeks, I'll see if I like it or not," McCann told the Irish Examiner. "After that I 'd be able to say that it is something I'd love to do every day or not.

"If I'm not enjoying it, I'd come back home. It's something that I don't want to look back on in a few years time and regret not giving it a go," he added.
