Celtic slipped up against United

by John Hartson , 22 March 2009

Gordon Strachan will be disappointed not to win against Dundee United, particularly after Celtic went a goal up.

To concede two poor goals like they did is very poor from Celtic’s point of view. One goal is from a set-piece and the other sees Sandaza unmarked and he sweeps it in well.

It's strange because Celtic will be disappointed, yet in the end I think Gordon’s relatively pleased with the fact they got back into the game.

Celtic showed a lot of character and it took a great volley in the end from Lee Naylor to equalise.

I think Craig Levein will come away with mixed emotions too. He’ll be delighted his team showed character and came back and went in front but there will be a sense of disappointment that they couldn’t hold on.

We’ve seen it so many times this season that Celtic have had an opportunity to extend their lead in The SPL but haven’t taken it.

I think Dundee United were very positive, whether or not Gordon Strachan will be happy with the goals is another matter but Craig Levein will be delighted to score two quick goals.

But it’s a disappointing result for Celtic, they had that chance to go five clear. When you go there and you look at Rangers' result against Hearts it is a great opportunity for The Bhoys but they failed to get the win.

But there Celtic spirit was evident as always and that could make all the difference in a tight title race.
