Bowling let England down
It was a huge disappointment obviously to go away with a series loss but this match always looked like a draw so it was down to the first Test and it was disappointing to lose the series on that one match from such a great position.
I thought we played exceptionally well for the first two or three days of the first Test but I think we showed a bit of naivety and there was a bit of inexperience with the captaincy of Kevin Pietersen.
But to get the series on was a great effort and they should be applauded for that. India is always a hard place to go and especially in those sort of circumstances, but they were outplayed by a very good India side.
I think if the tail is expected to get runs then the batsmen are pretty much not doing their jobs. Ian Bell never really got going but there were some stand-out performances.
Andrew Strauss enjoyed a remarkable achievement in the first Test that will be very hard for him to repeat and KP did well in the second Test. Matt Prior averaged 44 or 45 with the bat but the bowling let England down as they never really got the job done.
