* Birmingham City could be set to miss out on US international Oguchi Onyewu after Fenerbahce joined the race to sign the bulldozing centre-back.

* Reports claim that Birmingham City are on the brink of signing Newcastle defender David Edgar on a free transfer.

* Birmingham City appear keen to make a splash in The Premier League next season with their local paper reporting that the club have made a £6.2 million offer for Ecuador striker Cristian Benitez. The Santos Laguna star has been on the Blues radar for some time and could well become Birmingham's record signing should he arrive at St Andrews'.
