The Revenue Commissioners' petition to wind up League of Ireland side Cork City has been adjourned until next Monday, leaving the Leesiders time to receive a six-figure sum from Burnley for the sale of Kevin Long.

City's case heard at 3.30pm but they were handed another week to get their house in order.

It was ordered by the presiding judge that the club's frozen bank account be reopened to accept funds from the English club, who bought defender Long in the January transfer window.

Cork are hoping that the money comes through on Wednesday and they will be able to pay an outstanding VAT, PAYE and PRSI bill of EUR115,906.

It is now up to the FAI to decide if they can allow the Rebels extra time to pay off their debt before granting them a licence for the 2010 season.
