Tigers set for samba return boost

Phil Brown has revealed that Geovanni will return to training on Monday and could be fit for Hull's trip to Everton on Sunday week.

The influential Brazilian midfielder has been plagued by a knee problem in recent weeks and boss Brown opted to leave him out of the 20-man squad which travelled to Ireland for a friendly against Galway United on Friday.

However Geovanni has jetted out to Portugal to get the green light from a specialist to return to training early next week and Brown hopes to have him in contention for the game at Goodison Park on March 7.

He said: "I would hope to see him on the training ground from Monday onwards and throw his hat into the ring for Everton."

If Geovanni returns for his first match since the 4-0 defeat at Manchester United in January he could link up with the fit-again Jimmy Bullard in midfield for the first time since the 1-1 draw at Manchester City in November.
