Steve Bruce believes Sunderland's run of home games will help the Black Cats survive in the Premier League this season.
With seven of the 11 games remaining at the Stadium of Light, Bruce remains upbeat about his side's chances of staying up - with Sunderland currently three points above the drop zone.
Bruce's men start a run of four consecutive home games on Sunday when Fulham arrive on Wearside, looking to maintain a proud record of just two defeats in 12 home matches.
The Black Cats boss said: "Back-to-back victories at this stage of the season is massive and that's what I'm asking of my players."
"
There's absolutely no reason why we can't do it. And if we do that, then everything starts to turn around very quickly again."
Bruce added: "I am still quietly optimistic that we're going to turn things and start climbing the table again."
