Manchester United are believed to have signed Standard Liege youngster Marnick Vermijl, who will join them in the summer.
The defender is yet to make an appearance for Liege but reports in Belgium suggest United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has agreed a deal with the 18-year-old.
The Belgian youngster operates mainly as a right-back but can play anywhere across the back four.
It is thought he will link up with the United squad in the summer ahead of the 2010/2011 campaign.
