Hull defender Kamil Zayatte could miss the remainder of the season after leaving the pitch on a stretcher in the loss to Arsenal.
Zayatte was forced off early in the second half following a robust challenge from Arsenal defender Sol Campbell and the Tigers will find out the extend of the injury in the next 24 hours.
There are fears Zayatte could miss the remainder of the season, which would be a major blow to Hull in their fight for survival.
However, boss Phil Brown remains confident the Tigers can beat the drop after their performance against the Gunners, with Nicklas Bendtner scoring a last minute winner to deny Hull a point.
"If we bring that kind of pride and performance to the table for nine games, then we've got no problems," Brown said.
"I had a fear - if that's the right word - of maybe having to dip into the bottom three because of Everton away and Arsenal at home.
"That's happened. It's up to us now to respond in nine cup finals - none more so than Fratton Park next week."
