European Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie has welcomed Tiger Woods' planned return to golf at next month's Masters.
Montgomerie will be leading Europe against the United States for this year's Cup at Celtic Manor on 1-3 October.
And, despite Woods' return from a self-imposed exile after details of his infidelity emerged last November enhancing his chances of being in the US team, the Scot feels it will be good for the sport to have him back.
"He's certainly been missed by players and fans. Everyone is looking forward to seeing him," said Montgomerie.
Meanwhile US team captain Corey Pavin is adamant that he would like Woods to be in his Ryder Cup squad and feels he can handle the pressure.
"If there's anybody on this planet that can handle any situation on the golf course, it would be Tiger Woods," he said.
"He is as mentally tough as anybody I've ever seen in my life and I don't expect for there to be any problems any way."
