Pearson stands by his man

by Admin , 18 March 2010 Hull Generic

Hull chairman Adam Pearson has defended the appointment of Iain Dowie as the new manager and says he stands by his gamble.

Dowie's appointment has met with a mixed reaction from the club's supporters and there were more than a few raised eyebrows when the former Crystal Palace boss was handed the job of keeping Hull in the Premiership.

Pearson though stands by his decision and says Dowie will be given every opportunity to to succeed over the coming weeks.

"It is my responsibility, I am quite prepared to stand up and be counted over the decision," Pearson told the Mail.

"I believe Iain has enough time to turn it around. If people want to throw oranges at me, fine. "

But what I will say is that for these final nine games - get behind the manager and get behind the club."
