New Hull boss Iain Dowie will be without the suspended George Boateng for his first game in charge against Portsmouth.
Boateng saw red in the defeat to Arsenal last weekend and will sit out the crucial showdown with Pompey, who are doomed after having nine points deducted for going into administration.
Elsewhere, Anthony Gardner is still ruled out with an ankle injury but there is better news concerning midfielder Stephen Hunt who could be available again after recovering from a foot problem.
Kamil Zayatte was carried off against the Gunners last week and will miss out but Paul McShane, who missed the Arsenal defeat because of a family bereavement, could return.
