Stack sweating over surgery news

Hibs goalkeeper Graham Stack is sweating on news over whether he needs surgery to cure an eye injury suffered on the training ground.

The 28-year-old was struck by a ball in the face from close range which left him with no vision in his left eye, and was forced to miss the visit of Rangers on Sunday after being rushed to hospital.

Stack has been ruled out for the rest of the season but is now anxiously awaiting news over the extent of the injury and whether he needs surgery to correct it.

Hibs boss John Hughes said: "Graham took a sore one, the ball hit him from really close up and although there was not a cut you could see his eye swell up with blood.

"He didn't have any vision out of it and we got him off to the eye pavilion instantly and his retina is full of blood.

"We should find out later today whether he needs an operation to release the pressure."
