Pumas squad named for June Tests

Head Coach Santiago Phelan has named a 31-man Argentina squad for the upcmoming games with Scotland and France.


The Pumas face the Scots at Tucuman on June 12, before they play a French XV in Mar del Plata on June 18 and France in Buenos Aires eight days later.

Certainly most of the squad will be very familiar with the French opposition as 22 of the 31 named play in France, including Toulon pair Felipe Contepomi and Juan Martín Fernandez Lobbe, who have Sunday’s Amlin Challenge Cup Final against Cardiff Blues to overcome before they can focus on Pumas duty.

Forwards Patricio Albacete and Alberto Vernet Basualdo, should also be in action this weekend as their Toulouse side prepares to face fellow Top 14 side Biarritz in the big one on Saturday, the Heineken Cup final.
