Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce has hit out at AEK Athens for their 'over physical' approach to Wednesday's friendly match.
The Rovers boss was angry with the conduct of the Greek players, who he felt had set out to deliberately hurt his players during the 2-1 defeat for the Lancashire club.
Allardyce believes AEK Athens' approach to the game was the last thing his side needed in the build-up to the new Premier League season, after David Dunn narrowly escaped injury after one tackle.
"I was very, very surprised and I'm very, very sad that tackles like that were going in," Allardyce said.
"People say and talk about the physical game of the Premier League but we don't go around tackling players like that. That was bordering on almost intent to harm the player rather than a mistimed tackle but at least he (Dunn) is okay."
