Harry Redknapp has hinted that he might keep Robbie Keane at Tottenham after his recent performances in America.
The Republic of Ireland skipper has been heavily linked with a move away from White Hart Lane after spending the end of last season on loan at Celtic.
The 30-year-old was subsequently linked with a permanent move back to the Hoops, along with Aston Villa, before heading on Spurs' pre-season tour of America.
Keane scored against Sporting Lisbon and New York Red Bulls in the New York challenge, earning player of the tournament as he impressed while away.
Redknapp was full of praise for Keane and hinted that he would still be a Tottenham player when the transfer window shuts.
"His situation is that he is still a very, very good player," said the manager. "He looked sharp and bright and he is still very much in the plans.
"He wants to start every game and if he keeps playing as he did on Sunday, he can do. It was a fantastic finish and he is a quality player, one of our better players."
