Preston Obertan move ruled out

by Admin , 25 August 2010

Preston boss Darren Ferguson has ruled out a loan move for Manchester United winger Gabriel Obertan.

The rumours were started by the 21-year-old's appearance in the crowd at Deepdale on Saturday to watch North End's game against Portsmouth.

However, Ferguson Jnr claims he hasn't spoken to his dad Sir Alex about the player and doubts that he wouldn't be available in any case.

The Preston manager told the Lancashire Evening Post: 'That's one we've not even spoken about. He's in their first-team squad, there's no chance."

The 21-year-old hasn't featured so far this season, but it's understood he only attended the game on the invitation of a friend, who was playing for Portsmouth anyway, and he was in the Pompey end.
