Derry's Eoin Bradley is facing a ban of 48 weeks as the result of his assault on a referee last weekend.
The forward has been found guilty, by the Derry CCC, of striking referee Declan O'Connor following his club Glenullin's defeat to Ballinascreen in the local SFC.
He was notified of his ban on Wednesday evening and has 72 hours to appeal the decision.
The ban would rule Bradley out of action until July 27th next year, meaning he would miss not only all club and inter-county action, but also the International Rules series.
He had been under consideration to play against Australia by Anthony Tohill.
Bradley's older brother Paddy has been banned for four weeks for the verbally abusing the same referee.
