Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez will make changes for the Carling Cup third round tie with Preston North End on Wednesday.
North End travel to the DW Stadium for this derby clash in poor form and Latics boss Martinez will hope to add to their woes, with Victor Moses set to feature after he recovered from an ankle injury.
Recent additions James McArthur and Steven Caldwell could be given a chance to show what they can do as well, with Jordi Gomez - scorer of a great goal against Hartlepool United in the previous round - also eyeing a start.
Gary Caldwell (hip) is still injured though, while on-loan Manchester United man Tom Cleverley is ineligible, but has an injured knee in any case.
Iain Hume may start for Preston after making his debut as a sub in the weekend loss to Norwich City. The on-loan Barnsley man is not cup-tied, but the fitness of defender Callum Davidson is yet to be assessed.
Boss Darren Ferguson is set to be without midfielders Keith Treacy and Paul Coutts who have groin injuries, while ankle knocks are also set to sideline on loan Manchester United pair Matt James and Josh King.
