Steven Naismith scored deep into injury time to give Rangers a 2-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle and maintain their 100% start to the season.
Walter Smith's side spent most of the game chasing Rudi Skacel's opener for Jim Jefferies' men, the Czech star taking advantage of some slack defending by the champions.
Kyle Lafferty's clever free-kick made it 1-1 ten minutes from time before Naismith slalomed through the Hearts defence to slot past goalkeeper Marian Kello.
Madjid Bougherra was caught napping for the opening, Skacel getting on the end of a Kevin Kyle flick on to shoot past Allan McGregor.
That goal gave the lie to the first half, with Rangers managing nine attempts to Hearts' two.
The home side could have made it 2-0 early in the second half but Kevin Kyle somehow contrived to sidefoot over the bar from three yards.
Rangers were galvanised by this and had two brilliant chances to equalise. Sasa Papac cracked a left-footed volley off the post while Steven Davis blasted over the bar when it looked easier to score.
Lafferty finally managed to make the breakthrough when he found a yawning gap in the Hearts wall with a low free-kick. Just as the match seemed to be heading for a stalemate, and Rangers' first dropped points of the campaign, Naismith danced through the Hearts defence before arrowing the ball past Kello.
