Liverpool have been told that they have until Saturday to finalise a deal for Ajax striker Luis Suarez.
The Uruguay World Cup star has been linked with the Reds for several weeks and they have already have seen a £12.8million rejected out of hand by the Dutch side.
Ajax reportedly want double that for a player who has been tremendously prolific in the Eredivisie and showed his class on the world stage in South Africa last summer, in spite of his controversial red card in the quarter-final victory over Ghana.
Liverpool have stalled in making another bid closer to Ajax’s valuation, and their manager Frank de Boer has now told Kenny Dalglish’s side that he has ran out of patience with the uncertainty over the future of Suarez. He says the Reds have three days to complete the move or forget about Suarez.
"We don't want to lose him," said de Boer.
"Liverpool know what they have to pay and we are sticking to our guns. We want to know by 29th January, after that nothing more will happen."
