Perez hails the 'Special One'

by Setanta Staff , 06 June 2011

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez feels that his club has the best coach in the world and has backed Jose Mourinho to bring success.

Real were forced to play second fiddle to Barcelona last season, finishing four points behind their great rivals in the La Liga table, while watching as the Catalan giants beat Manchester United to lift the Champions League trophy.

The big two dominated Spanish football last term and everyone else was playing for third place after the first half of the campaign.

With Barca showing no signs of letting up and likely to recruit over the summer, Real's task will become even harder next term, with the likes of Lionel Messi still to reach his peak.

Perez, however, is more than happy with the current state of affairs and has backed the former Chelsea boss to deliver the goods in the coming years.

"We are counting on a spectacular team which is young and has the best coach in the world," he said.

"This year we laid the basis for the future. We won the Copa and we are convinced that this is just the start of a great run."
