Aaron Ramsey scored with almost the final kick of the match to give Arsenal a 1-0 win over Marseille in the Stade Velodrome on Wednesday night.
While both sides could have been awarded penalties for handball in the first half, the match had slowed to a bore before the Welshman popped up two minutes into injury time.
The 21-year-old had started on the bench due to a tight hamstring but, thankfully for Arsenal, applied a clinical finish past Steve Mandanda in the Marseille goal. Johan Djourou had provided the cross.
Arsenal are now on seven points in Group F, topping the group.
The first chance of a tepid game fell to Robin van Persie, whose looping header was cleared off the line by Souleymane Diawara from Mikel Arteta's corner. Diawara, it seemed, had handled the ball but the referee failed to spot any offence.
The Gunners' next chance did not come until Theo Walcott fired in a low shot that Mandanda saved.
With just a few minutes remaining the goalkeeper saved again from van Persie, but he could do nothing when Gervinho took the sting out of Djourou's cross for Ramsey to slot home.
