Swansea are hoping to agree a deal with Blackburn for Keith Andrews in the New Year, once his loan spell at Ipswich comes to an end.
The Republic of Ireland midfielder has impressed at Portman Road since joining the Championship strugglers for the first half of the season, scoring eight goals for Paul Jewell's side.
However, the 31-year-old wants to return to the Premier League in January and seems set for a permanent exit from Blackburn as he is not in boss Steve Kean's plans.
That has led to talk Swansea will offer around £2million for him although Wigan are also said to be keen ,while Jewell has made it clear he wants him to stay at Portman Road - but is likely to lose out on him due to the top-flight interest.
Meanwhile, Swansea are still waiting to hear back from Northern Irish outfit Cliftonville if they have accepted their improved offer for 19-year-old striker Rory Donnelly.
