Boss Neil Warnock is eyeing a loan move for young Tottenham winger Andros Townsend as he steps up his attempts to bolster his squad.
Warnock has indicated that he wants to bring up to four new players into Loftus Road during January's transfer window and Townsend is understood to be among his targets.
The 20-year-old has played for Tottenham in Europe and the Carling Cup this season but is yet to feature in the league and his first-team chances would appear to be bleak this season with Spurs riding high in third place in the table.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp sent Townsend to Ipswich, Watford and Millwall for loan spells last season and Warnock is hoping he will be prepared to agree another temporary deal until the end of the campaign.
He said: "We will be looking to borrow two or three players - people that have something to prove.
"
I will be looking to bring in at least three or four players.
We are working hard, and I am having many conference calls with the chairman (Tony Fernandes) over who we may be able to bring in.
"It changes day to day as players become available that you think you can buy or loan in, but there are areas we want to improve on and I think we will get the players we want.
"
We have a drawing power and the way we play, if I were a player I would be excited.
"If I can get some good business done then what a great end of season we can have, I'm looking forward to it."
