Barnsley boss Keith Hill had no complaints about the result after the 2-0 loss to Doncaster.
Goals from James Hayter and Kyle Bennett earned Rovers all three points and ensured the Tykes slipped to a fourth defeat in five npower Championship games.
Hill said: "Sometimes you have to hand credit to the opposition.
"
They pressed us from the start and did a good job on us - and when the first goal went in it was always uphill for us.
I'm disappointed with the result but I couldn't ask for any more from my players.
"I was really encouraged by some of our play but the final ball let us down and our decision making wasn't as sharp as it has been. It's been a busy period for everyone and it looked as if a bit of tiredness crept into our play."
