Rangers boss Ally McCoist has confrmed St Johnstone striker Francisco Sandaza is top of his January transfer wish-list.
The 27-year-old Spaniard is out of contract at Saints at the end of the season and could be allowed to move on for around £300,000 this month.
McCoist does not have too much money to spend on new players but would be able to afford Sandaza and is set to meet with owner Craig Whyte to discuss transfer targets.
He said: "I will need to have a wee chat and regroup with Craig and see where we are.
"[Sandaza] is one of a number of players, certainly forwards, that I am really, really interested in."
McCoist may need to sign a striker in the window - especially if top striker Nikica Jelavic moves on - amid talk he could be heading to England.
