Lambert rejects second-half dip fears

by Setanta Staff , 17 January 2012 football news

Paul Lambert insists his Norwich side will not 'do a Blackpool' and suffer an alarming loss of form in the second half of the season.

This time 12 months ago, Blackpool were sitting in relative safety in the middle of the Premier League after making an outstanding start to life in the top flight.

However, they really struggled in the second half of the season and ended up getting dragged into a relegation fight and went down on the final day.

Norwich's start to this season has been likened to the Seasiders' last year but Lambert is sure the Canaries will not suffer the same fate in 2012.

"That could happen to anybody but we are a different club," he said. "We're like everybody else. We need players to keep their form and hope we don't get injuries and suspensions."

Lambert has been pleased with how his squad have adapted to the Premier League but warned there are likely to be plenty more twists and turns.

"The lads are playing with a lot of confidence at the minute," he added. "I'm delighted with what they have done for me. I don't think anybody visualised this, but we are halfway through and there is a long, long way to go."
