Promoter Bob Arum says there is no truth to the rumours Manny Pacquiao will step into the ring with Floyd Mayweather Jr in May.
Mayweather called out Pacquiao on Twitter at the start of the year and it was revealed to the media the arena at the MGM Grand had been booked on May 5, with a super-fight against the Filipino fighter in mind.
'The Money' also had his 90-day jail term for assaulting the mother of his children moved to June so he could fight on May 5, with Pacquiao the only fighter he had in mind, according to a press conference.
However, Arum has rubbished any hopes the 34-year-old might have had of facing Pacquiao before he went to jail, insisting that a date in November remained the most realistic option.
"Economically it is a problem that Floyd created," Arum told Sports Illustrated. "The amount that would be lost by moving it to May 5 is enormous.
"The fight is not going to happen. We will do the fight in November. There is no real magic in doing it in May."
