Former super-middleweight champion Carl Froch has rubbished talk of moving up to light-heavyweight for a fight with Nathan Cleverly.
The 'Cobra' is currently contemplating what to do next after he lost his WBC super-middleweight crown to Andre Ward on points in the Super Six final in December.
Having fought and beaten the majority of the big names at his current weight rumours had suggested the Nottingham-based fighter was looking to make the step up to light-heavyweight.
Should he move up a weight category it could have set up a potentially huge domestic showdown beaten Froch and world light-heavyweight champion Cleverly.
However, Froch says he has no interest in fighting the Welshmen at this time and claims he is looking for an opponent at super-middleweight for his comeback bout late this year.
"Nobody's interested in talk about me stepping up to light-heavyweight to fight Nathan Cleverly," he told Sky Sports..
"It's boring, there's big fights for me - Mikkel Kessler, Lucien Bute, there's more names I could roll off the tongue that would make people interested.
"We want to be fighting in Nottingham for a nice steady comeback fight, I don't have easy fights but I'll have a nice steady comeback and then look to challenge for a world title very soon."
