Robshaw's call to arms

New captain Chris Robshaw has revealed a united focus is driving on Stuart Lancaster's new-look England squad.

The Harlequins skipper was on Monday given the prize honour of leading his country out against great rivals Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday for the start of the RBS 6 Nations.

It is a move which many believe signals the start of a new era for the Red Rose and the chance to move on from the Martin Johnson era and World Cup shambles.

The 25-year-old said he was thrilled to be named skipper and revealed a new collective effort was giving the rest of the squad a fresh impetus.

"It will be a huge honour, I'm sure in the days leading up to it (the match at Murrayfield) I'll be a bit nervous but I think that's only natural," Robshaw told Sky Sports News.

"We've got a great bunch of guys and a great leadership group as well which has been right behind me in helping to lead this team. So we are really looking forward to going up there and really making the most of it."

He added: "There's a great feeling about (the squad), everyone's really excited about the campaign and the first game in Scotland. But it's about taking one step at a time and that is game by game."
