Kean reveals star's future uncertainty

by Setanta Staff , 06 February 2012 Kean reveals star's future uncertainty

Steve Kean wants to quickly resolve the ongoing situation surrounding wantaway defender Chris Samba for the good of him and Blackburn.

The Rovers chief has not played the Congolese centre-back since he confirmed during the January transfer window that he wanted to leave Ewood Park for pastures new with Tottenham, Queens Park Rangers and French giants Paris St Germain all vying for his signature.

However, Kean and his club bosses refused to give Samba the move he desired and want him to now help them avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.

But, despite being fit and available, Samba was again missing for Saturday's dismal 7-1 mauling at Arsenal, prompting Kean to plead for a quick resolution for all parties concerned.

He said "Without going too deep he's fit and he's available for selection but I've decided not to put him in the squad.

"It's a situation we'd like to get resolved as soon as possible because I think the way we are just now is not really helpful for anybody - us or him.

"He's one of our key defenders and you always miss any player when they're not available."
