Swansea have been boosted by the news Brendan Rodgers is poised to pen a new three-year deal with the club.
Rodgers has worked wonders since taking charge of the Swans and after guiding them to promotion last season they are now sitting pretty in 10th spot in the Premier League.
Chairman Huw Jenkins is well aware that other clubs could start sniffing around and is keen to get the deal sorted by the end of the week.
"Brendan's new contract is very good news," said Jenkins. "We are under no illusions about the fact that we have got one of best young managers around working for our club.
"Brendan has shown what he is capable of over the last couple of seasons and what he has done for us has been very pleasing.
"He is very important to us and that's not going to change, so it was very, very important to get the contract sorted out."
Rodgers had been working on a one-year rolling deal but the new contract will see the former Watford and Reading boss gain a substantial pay rise, while a clause will also be included in it that will see the club get a large amount of compensation should be poached away.
