Kingston harbours Premiership ambition

by Brian Etherson , 03 May 2009

Influential Hearts midfielder Laryea Kingston admits his desire to play in The Premiership is as strong as ever, although he is aware it depends on him playing regular first team football.

Kingston is adamant that he is quite happy to stay with The Jambos, but revealed he still wants to play in England – a move that was scuppered because of injury during the January transfer window.

"It has been a frustrating season - the worst of my career," said Kingston.

“I want to play in all five games and be fit for next season. I'm happy here.

"But in January I had a lot of options down South and it was quite disappointing when I picked up an injury.

"I had three or four offers to go to The Premiership and one from Germany as well.

"They are waiting to see if I'm back on the pitch. Every player has an ambition to play in The Premier League. It's the best league in the world."
