Setanta Sports covers a wealth of other programming on top of the Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and World Cup Qualifiers, including live and delayed coverage of the Carling Cup, Le Championnat, the Russian Premier League, the English Coca-Cola Championship, and the Scottish Premier League. Beyond the soccer programs, Setanta Sports airs all major Rugby Union and the GAA. The channel provides the very best Rugby Union coverage available in this hemisphere, showing the Heineken Cup, Guinness Premiership, Magners League, Super 14, Tri Nations, and much more. Also, catch the GAA throughout the seasons.

 

Does Setanta Sports show more than just the matches?
Yes, the channel features numerous magazines and highlight shows such as The Football League Show, Press Box, and Special 1 TV.

 

When will you be in HD?
Very little of the product we show is in HD because European pictures are better than SD, and they are not moving as fast into it. For example, only one Barclays Premier League game a week is offered in HD and the access and cost of bringing it in would mean we would need to charge $50 per person to make this option work. We know no one would pay that amount, and the third parties like DIRECTV, etc., will not give us the bandwidth necessary to do it. We're looking into offering a SVOD HD product 2010-2011 when more of the product we offer is available.

What is the subscription fee?
Generally, it's 14.99 USD/month for residential customers. From $100/month for business customers (pubs, clubs, private offices etc.) – DIRECTV only.

 

Is Setanta Xtra only available through DIRECTV?
Yes, Setanta Xtra is currently only included with subscription through DIRECTV. Setanta Xtra is on DIRECTV channel 622. Currently this is the only way to watch Setanta Xtra, although many of the matches on Setanta Xtra are also on Setanta Broadband 2, available through Setanta-i.

 

Are these carriers the only way to watch Setanta Sports?
No, you can also watch it online through Setanta-i. And if you want to view the Setanta Sports channel outside of your home, you can watch the channel at numerous pubs and clubs across the US, as well as in Canada. Will another cable or satellite provider carry the Setanta Sports channel?

Contact your carrier to their policy as minimum periods may be set by the individual carrier, but not by Setanta Sports.

What is Setanta Sports?
Setanta Sports was established in 1996 in the United States. It began as a pay-per-view and closed-circuit television business and was extremely successful in providing a passionate audience (primarily European expatriates) with live sports broadcasts in pubs and clubs across the country. On April 26, 2005 a full sports television channel dedicated to European and international football, world-class rugby and other sports was established. The channel successfully launched with the live broadcast of the Champions League on DIRECTV and WorldTV as a premium channel.

Yes.
